A list of facilities in New York and New Jersey that hold R2 certification (per the SERI directory) or e-Stewards certification, or that carry a New York State DEC electronic waste recycling facility registration or a New Jersey DEP authorized recycler listing. It is compiled from those four public registries and nothing else: name, city, status, version, workflows and registration number, each with a link to the registry record. Last checked 2026-09-20. RemoteHands.nyc is not a certified recycler. We are the hands that get retired hardware out of the rack and to the vendor you choose, with a documented chain of custody.

Facilities on the public registries
R2 and e-Stewards are the two certification programs the US EPA points to for used electronics. The EPA puts it this way: Certified electronics recyclers have demonstrated through audits and other means that they continually meet specific high environmental standards and safely manage used electronics.
(EPA, Certified Electronics Recyclers.) A NYS DEC registration or NJ DEP listing is a state registration under each state's electronic waste law, not a certification. From the rack to the recycler, with a paper trail
You choose the vendor. RemoteHands.nyc does the physical work in the data center and hands the gear to that vendor, or to your own vendor, under a documented chain of custody. It is the same scope as our decommission, pack and ship service; the only difference is who signs for the pallet at the dock.

Power down and unrack
Graceful shutdown on your signal, label and photograph in place, disconnect power, then pull each unit off its rails and out of the cabinet.

Media sanitization or destruction
Pull drives and wipe them to your specification, or physically destroy media on request. Serials are captured so nothing leaves undocumented. If the vendor you chose will do the destruction, media ships intact under the same chain of custody.

Asset inventory and photos
Serial, model, and asset-tag capture with per-unit photos, delivered as an itemized manifest you can reconcile against your own records and against the vendor's receiving report.

Pack, palletize and hand off
Anti-static wrap, boxes, cushioning and palletizing, then staging at the loading dock. We meet the vendor's truck or your carrier, hand off the shipment, and pass back tracking so you can follow the gear.
Certificates of data destruction or recycling come from the vendor you contract with, not from RemoteHands.nyc. What we provide is the record of what left the floor: the manifest, the photos, and the hand-off at the dock.

Certification is checked by the registries, not by us
R2 status comes from the SERI directory, e-Stewards status from the e-Stewards processor list, and registrations from the NYS DEC and NJ DEP lists. RemoteHands.nyc has not verified, audited or visited any facility on this page.

Status can change
Certificates get suspended, expire, are withdrawn, or move with the facility. This page shows what the registries stated on 2026-09-20. Treat anything older than a few months as a starting point, not a fact.

Verify at the registry before you contract
Every row links to its registry record. Open it, confirm the status and the scope of the certificate, and ask the vendor for its current certificate before you sign.

Not an endorsement, not complete
Being on this list means a registry lists the facility, nothing more. Being absent means we did not find it in the four registries on the date checked, or it did not meet the rule described above. This is not a recommendation of any vendor over another.

If a row is wrong or out of date, use the request form and pick ITAD vendor listing correction as the type of work. Tell us the vendor, what is wrong, and the registry link that shows it. We re-check against the registry and update the page.
